Justin has over 15 years of baking, cooking, and retail merchandising experience in the food industry.

When he started his culinary and crafting journey his goal was to become more self-reliant and have more control over what he was consuming. He has since been able to share these efforts with friends, family, and community.

Located in Brooklyn, NY Dogwood Provisions Co. is part of a larger purpose to help build more sustainable regional food and retail systems. We hope to achieve this by sharing knowledge, building community connections, and sourcing from as many regional and small producers as possible.

All of our products and content are made with this goal in mind, and we are proud of what we have to offer. We hope to empower others to follow suit as they follow their own path toward sustainability.

“Building sustainable systems through community, thoughtful sourcing, and sharing knowledge”

All of our products are handcrafted in small batches to create a truly unique item. We take pride in using as many ingredients and materials as possible that align with sustainable and natural practices.

Leather Goods

Although there are different opinions on the sustainability of the leather tanning industry, our view is simple. By crafting well-made leather goods using minimal finishing techniques, we can reduce the amount of material product waste by selling items that are made to last a lifetime. Cowhides are a by-product of the beef industry, by using this material for the construction of various goods instead of petroleum-based materials we help reduce our usage of fossil fuels.

Pantry

Our pantry items are created using many ingredients sourced from small and/or regional producers, sometimes even our own garden! Our goal is to support these producers by highlighting the amazing ingredients they have to offer. All pantry items are made in a home kitchen and cannot be sold outside of New York State.

Courses

Our courses are aimed at helping others to produce their own wonderful goods by learning about home processing techniques, outlets, and effective merchandising. Taking the first step towards selling your own products can sometimes be intimidating. Let us help by providing you with the basic skills and knowledge needed to become a home processor. We are still creating the best course content to set you up for success. Check back later for more updates!
